2010/2011 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Click Here to Register for the Leduc Junior Athletic Club to tryout for the Midget AAA, Minor Midget AAA, and Bantam AAA.

Leduc Minor Hockey has implemented an online registration process last year and due to its success we will be doing this again for the 2010/2011 hockey season registration. This was initiated to make registering for Hockey easier for everyone involved.

Pre-Registration Deadline is July 1, 2010. Pre-registration is very important to Leduc Minor Hockey inorder that we can get a very close idea of the player numbers that we will be dealing with for next season. There is a LATE FEE of $100.00 this year for all registrations received after July 1st (Final Registration Day). Of course this does not apply to new members to our association. The purpose of this late fee is to ensure that everyone registers prior to this date so that we can plan accordingly with the proposed numbers at each level. Registration Fee Payment is NOT required until September 15th, however, it’s the registration that we are most interested in. Even if you think that your child may or may not play please ensure that you register to ensure that space is available. If you are going to be trying out for the LJAC elite teams you still must register with Leduc Minor Hockey if you plan to play in Leduc to avoid the $100.00 Late fee being charged. Please help us effectively plan for the upcoming season and REGISTER online prior to the July 1st deadline.

FUNDRAISING

At the 2010 Leduc Minor Hockey Annual General Meeting it was discussed and motioned to decline the working of Bingo’s for the Association, without an increase in registration fees. The motion was passed by the members present. A poll was placed on the website where there was a significant majority in favor of not working a Bingo (82%) and would prefer to pay an additional $50.00 per registration if required. Through the fee evaluation process it was recognized that we, as an association, budget each year to raise $40,000.00 through Bingo’s, Corporate Sponsors, Casinos, Oilers 50/50, Oil Kings Preseason Game, Oilers Rookie Game, Provincials, etc. With the amount of time and effort required to fulfill the Bingo requirements the majority have felt that it is not worth the compensation and can be made up in other areas. We must however commit to the other fundraising opportunities that are available to the association and ensure that everyone does their part in ensuring the success of these opportunities. Leduc Minor Hockey will be requesting teams to fulfill these obligations in order to spread the commitment of time for these events. Further details will be provided and of course will be based on the opportunities that are presented to us each year. For example, if we get another Oilers 50/50 or Casino this year we will be asking each minor hockey team to provided 2 or 3 volunteers from each of our 30 teams to fulfill this commitment.

The bottom line is that you no longer have to sign up for bingos at registration, you no longer have to work bingos during the work day, and we no longer have to fight to manage the volunteers to work the Bingo’s. We do however STILL need to continue to make the minimum of $40,000.00 each year through our fundraising efforts in order to keep our registration fees reasonable. In lieu of this bingo relief we are asking that everyone volunteer to work our fundraising events (i.e. Oilers 50/50, Oil Kings Pre-Season Game, Oilers Rookie Game, Casino, or any other event we may have), coach or manage our kids teams, or simply get involved with this association, either at a team or association level, to make it the best possible for our kids at a reasonable and affordable cost.
